Jim Carrey is at it again!

The Box Office Results from last weekend:
  1. The Expendables 2
  2. The Bourne Legacy
  3. ParaNorman
  4. The Campaign
  5. The Dark Knight Rises
The Movie news for the week:
  • The Avengers deleted Scene, extended clip, and Clip from the documentary:
    • Who is Bruce Banner?:
    • Extended Scene between Hawkeye and Loki:
    • A clip from the documentary, Building a Cinematic Universe, from The Avengers Blu-ray focusing on Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury:
  • Universal is looking to cast Jim Carrey as The Colonel in Kick-Ass 2. If you are not familiar with the comic book, he is the leader of the Heroes in the fight against evil. Donald Faison has already been cast as Doctor Gravity and  John Leguizamo has been cast as Javier, Red Mist’s bodyguard. I can'y wait for this movie to be released!
  • Taken Nemo:
  • Ben Affleck is not directing the Justice League movie. I knew it was a rumor, I just thought it would be fun to see. Ben Affleck is working on Argo right now and that is defiantly one movie that I will see by him. He is a good director, just not for a Superhero Team-up movie.
The Movie trailer for this week:
  • Lawless Red Band Trailer:
  • Passion Trailer:
  • The Hole Trailer:

Community will never be the same!

The Television news for the week:
          • ABC is still planning on doing a Hulk TV series. The series would be coming from the amazing writer, director, producer Guillermo del Toro. To continue the story that The Avengers movie started, they would need to bring on Mark Ruffalo as the show runner. The special effects would have to be great and  be done under a budget. And lastly it would need a large viewership to keep it running. I don't see the show happening, but it would be really nice to see it happen.
          • CBS has released sneak peeks for Elementary and Vegas. If you remember me talking about Elementary being a modern Sherlock Holmes in America with Lucy Liu playing Watson.
            • Sneak Peek for Elementary:

I still think Sherlock from BBC is better.
            • Sneak Peek for Vegas:
          • Here is the first footage from CW's new series Arrow:
            • Here is the trailer for the series:

          • Dan Harmon has been fired as Community Show runner. He went to his Tumblr account to issue a statement. This really shocked me after Season 3 finale just aired last Thursday. The show will still have a 4th season, but without Dan Harmon. Since he is out, do you think that David Guarascio and Moses Port can continue the show? If so, can it be done so that the fans will continue to love it. Could they bring up the ratings so that the show will do better then ever? I hope so!

          5. What to Expect When You're Expecting
The movie news for the week:
          • The Amazing Spider-Man behind the scenes with Mark Webb:

          • Here are some images from Taken 2:

A trailer for the film will be posted in the trailer section of this blog.
          • The Avengers could be released on DVD and Blu-Ray as soon as September 25th. Here is the Box Art for the 3 types of formats the movie is released on:

          • Hugh Jackman announces that The Wolverine will start filming this summer in Australia. Still is weird since it is supposed to take place in Japan. I am hoping the film is better then the first one and leads to more sequels and cameos. I will post news on this story as it is released.
The recently released trailers that interest me:

          Joss Whedon is the Man!

As always, the Weekend Box Office results from lat weekend:
          1. Marvel's The Avengers
          2. Dark Shadows
          3. Think Like a Man
          4. The Hunger Games
          5. The Lucky One
Now for the movie news for the week:
          • Ron Howard is still working to get the Dark Tower movie off the ground. After Universal Pictures dropped the trilogy and TV series, there has been a lack of new on the topic. Recently, Warner Bros. has said that they were interested in the project, but nothing has been set into stone yet. I still have hope that Ron Howard will make this happen.
          • Disney CEO Robert A. Iger has confirmed that The Avengers 2 is already in development. After the recent box office success, why wouldn't they. I feel that as long as Joss Whedon is involved in the movie, it is going to get amazing. Now people are wondering when the movie will hit theater. After recent movie announcements like Ant Man and the S.H.I.E.L.D. movie, the movie probably wont be release until 2015.
          • Marion Cotillard confronts the rumors abouth her character in The Dark Knight Rises. She states that her character, Miranda Tate is just a glorified love interest to Bruce Wayne. She also states that she will be playing the Talia al Ghul, just under a different name. She will have ties to the League of Shadows and Bane. She also falls in love with Batman and is on his side by the end of the movie.
          • Andre 3000 will be playing Jimi Hendrix in an upcoming biopic. The movie will be set between 1966 and 1967 and will be about the time Hendrix was discovered at a New York City club by the girlfriend of a the famous Rolling Stones guitarist  Linda Keith. The movie will not included any of Jimi Hendrix's music, but still could turn out well.
          • One of my Favorite parts of The Avengers:
          • Here is some back story of the Lizard and Dr. Curt Conners in The Amazing Spider-Man:

          • The new trailer releases for the week:
            • The Amazing Spider-Man:

            • Ben Affleck's Historical Thriller called Argo:

            • Gangster Squad:

            • The Campaign:

            The World Needs You!

The Gaming news for the week:
            • Valve has announced that they will not be announcing anything new at E3 this year. They state that they will be talking about stuff we have already heard of. They are talking about Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Dota 2. I hope that is just a marketing ploy to keep peoples eye of them while they work on Half-Life 3 and Left 4 Dead 3. I would be happy hearing about either game.
            • After much speculation of who will Assume the Da Vinci Role in Assassin's Creed 3, it has been confirmed that Benjamin Franklin will not play that role. From an interview, Ubisoft states that Benjamin Franklin just wasn't that type of inventor. I agree, but there needs to be somebody that makes the cool stuff for Conner. Also, I would find it funny if that added a character named Johnny Tremain in the game.
            • For anyone who wants to see Microsoft's E3 press release, I have good news for you. Microsoft has announced that they will be streaming it live on to your Xbox 360 and on Spike TV on Monday June 4th at 12:30 PST. Even though Microsoft says they will not be announcing the next generation console, it will still be packed with cool stuff.
            • Here is the official cover of Madden NFL 13 with Calvin Johnson:
              Madden NFL 13 Cover Official
            • There still might be hope for a game for The Avengers. Ubisoft just registered an new domain for The Avengers that suggest that they are working on a game for the Box Office Hit. Until Ubisoft confirms it, I would not worry to much about the game.
            • Here is the announcement trailer for The Elder Scrolls Online:

The only bad news is that it will only be for Mac and PC players.
            • New Dead Space 3 rumors have been released. Issac Clarke will have have a new companion that will help guide him through the Campaign. There are a few rumors that suggest that there will be drop-in/drop-out Co-Op for the game. There also might be improved mobility in the game.
            • Here is something you Assassin's Creed 3 fans might enjoy:

If you head on over to this link here, you can help unlock the World Gameplay Premiere for the game. I've done my part, now its your turn!

Jon Hamm is an old Daniel Radcliffe!

The Television news for the week:
            • Daniel Radcliffe will play a younger version of Jon Hamm in a four-part British television miniseries. The miniseries is about a young Russian doctor during the post World War 1 era, played by Daniel Radcliffe, that tries to overcome his shakiness and self-doubt. Jon Hamm will play the narrator and will occasionally interact with his younger self. The series will have a sort of  darkly humorous tone. I think it would be funny to hear Daniel Radcliffe and Jon Hamm with an Russian accent.
            • Supernatural has been renewed for another season and man am I happy. But I also heard that it may be the shows last season. With many fans complaining about the 7th seasons main nemesis, the Leviathans, not being the main story, fans that have been watching the show for years have been walking away from the show. I liked this season so far, it is what a series like this needs. The show has been around for seven seasons. They have the slow the show down or they will over achieve on some episodes and royally suck on others. After season 8 Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles will have to resign their contracts. If season 7 finshes well and season 8 is very good, then I believe that they will sign contracts for 2 more seasons. At that point they need to bring the show to a close so that the show doesn't get to crazy. That's just what I think.
            • Remember that TV Show I was talking about back in this blog called True Detectives, well HBO has just decided to pick it up. True Detectives is the story of two Louisiana detectives named Martin Hart, played by Woody Harrelson, and Rust Cohle, played by Matthew McConaughey, on the hunt for a serial killer that spans 17 years. With HBO deciding to put out amazing content, like Boardwalk Empire and Band of Brothers, I think this could turn out well. I will still wait on making my own decisions about the series until I see the Pilot.
            • Robert Kirkman is super excited for Season 3 of The Walking Dead. Season 3 is currently under production and will be for a few months. Robert talks about many things he is excited for in th upcoming season, such as:
              • Bringing the Comic Book alive like never before.
              • The story line of the prison,  Michonne, and the Governor.
              • Michonne will be hacking some zombies.
              • Season 3 has is set for 16 episodes. over twice the amount that season 1 had.
              • Season 3 premieres on AMC this October.
            • Since today's blog is kind of short and I know you guys want my review of The Avengers, I am willing to make a deal. If the blog gets 75 total views today, I will post my review of The Avengers. I may even give something away. So, GET STARTED!!!

I almost cried when he died!

As always on the Monday blog, the Weekend Box Office Results:
            1. Marvel's The Avengers
            2. Think Like a Man
            3. The Hunger Games
            4. The Lucky One
            5. The Pirates! Band of Misfits
And now for the movie news for the week:
            • Since the Hulk was an amazing character in The Avengers they have decided to do more with him. Marvel has just announced that they will be doing a Hulk TV show and they might have Mark Ruffalo back to play the Hulk/Bruce Banner. Then in 2015, a new Hulk movie might be hitting theaters. If they continue with the Hulk from The Avengers, then this is finally a good enough Hulk to do something with.
            • Here is a parody trailer for the Justice League movie Avengers style. There is another video of The Avengers vs. Batman. These come from one of my favorite Youtube Channels ItsJustSomeRandomGuy. Check them out below:

            • Here is an awesome superhero movie mashup set to Weezer's Perfect Situation. That is the only way I can describe it, so check it out below:
            • Scarlett Johansson, Black Widow, may be pretty busy very soon. After her success in Iron Man 2 and The Avengers, she may be very busy working on multiple movies. Marvel wants to make a Hawkeye and Black Widow spin-off film. They also might end up doing a Black Widow solo film. And then Marvel may have her apart of the Nick Fury/S.H.E.I.L.D. movie in the works. Since she wont be in Iron Man 3 and the sequel for The Avengers wont be coming out anytime soon, Marvel has to somehow continue/tell the story of Black Widow.
            • Michelle Rodriguez is back in Fast and the Furious 6 and Machete Kills. This is news to me since IO though she died in Fast and Furious. I had to look it up and she actually didn't die in a segment after the credits. Since she is now confirmed in Fast 6, does that mean she will be the one fighting Gina Carano? I hope so, otherwise the movie will be filled with women beaters. Now there is news that David Tennant might be joining the movie. My only question is what is his character?
            • Here is a mashup between The Avengers and The Hangover. Its pretty funny so check it out below:
            • Lionsgate has signed Francis Lawrence to direct the sequel to The Hunger Games, Catching Fire. Francis Is most famous for directing I Am Legend. I have not see The Hunger Games yet, but I do plan on seeing it soon. Do you think he is a good choice to direct the film?
            • Video interview of Clark Gregg and Cobie Smulders from The Avengers. This is Awesome, so check it out below:

            • Kick-Ass 2 is to begin production this Summer and be set to release in May 2013. There are very few details about the movie. Red Mist gets a name change. The role of hit girl may be given to someone new since Chloë Moretz is busy with other projects. I will post more details as they come out.
            • Tons of new trailers:
              • The Dark Knight Rises Trailer #3

              • The Expendables 2 Trailer #2

              • The Amazing Spider-Man Trailer #3

              • The Watch Red Band Trailer

            IMAX is better then 3D!!

As always, the Weekend Box Office Results:
            1. Think Like a Man
            2. The Lucky One
            3. The Hunger Games
            4. Chimpanzee
            5. The Three Stooges
On to the Movie news for the week:
            • There is a behind the scenes clip of The Avengers that is almost 20 minutes long. There is no dialog in the clip to keep from spoiling the movie. There is however some well chosen background music. Check out the clip below:

            • There is a set photo from Star Trek 2 that hit the web. It shows Spock in his Volcanic suit and nothing more then that. Check it out below:
Zachary Quinto Dons Spock's 'Volcano Suit' on the 'Star Trek 2' Set
            • The final posters for The Amazing Spider-Man have been released. They add a darker tone to the highly anticipated reboot. Check them out below:
Final 'The Amazing Spider-Man' Movie Poster The Amazing Spider-Man City Poster
            • Universal Pictures has announced that they will be working on a big screen reboot of The Rockford Files. There has not been many details released, but they have signed Vince Vaughn to play Jim Rockford. This role was originally played by James Garner in the TV Show. This could be a very good move or a very bad movie. It all depends on how Universal and Vince approach the movie.
            • There have been more behind the scenes images released of The Lone Ranger. They show Armie Hammer and Johnny Depp meeting with Navajo leaders. Check out the images below:
Navajo Nation Vice President Rex Lee Jim, Johnny Depp shakes hands with Navajo Nation President Ben Shelly (Lone Ranger) Navajo Nation Vice President Rex Lee Jim, Armie Hammer and Navajo Nation President Ben Shelly (Lone Ranger)
            • If you are planning to go see The Avengers Opening Night like I am, you are going to get a special treat. Warner Brothers has announced that they will be releasing a new trailer for The Dark Knight Rises before The Avengers. Thats a big announcement since The Dark Knight Rises might end up being the Movie of the Year and hopefully the Greatest Movie of All Time! I will make sure to post the trailer on the following Monday for the movie blog.
            • Guy Pearce has joined Iron Man 3 as Aldrich Killian, one of the creator of the Extremis technology. When the military pulls the funding for his project, Killian turns into a villain. The movie also has Ben Kingsley playing an undetermined villain. My guess still stand that he will play the Mandarin, even though Marvel still denies this.
            • Another set photo from Les Misérables have been released. This one shows Anne Hathaway & Hugh Jackman and it looks like they are singing:
Anne Hathaway and Hugh Jackman in Costume for 'Les Misérables'
            • Christopher Nolan says that over an hour of The Dark Knight Rises was shot in IMAX format. What does this mean you ask? This means that the movie will look better, feel real, and be a better movie. The IMAX shots in this movie are double the ones in The Dark Knight and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. I don't know about you, but I can't for the movie to hit theaters.

The Hunger Games is still #1!

            The Weekend Box Office results:
            1. The Hunger Games
            2. The Three Stooges
            3. The Cabin in the Woods
            4. Titanic 3D
            5. American Reunion
The Movie news for the week:
            • Sir Ben Kingsley is set to play a villain in Iron Man 3. He will not be the main villain or the Mandarin like many people believed he would play. This would be yet another good role for him since he does well in the villainous roles in movies.
            • Here is a short film you may want to watch. It is really good for only being 5 minutes long. Check it out below:
            • The Avengers is already getting some good reviews from the early screenings of the movie. Here is some good stuff to get you even more hyped for the movie.
Here is a set visit video from Entertainment Tonight:

Here is a clip called Headcount:

Here is a clip with Captain America and Thor. They seem to be really starting to bond.

Those should hold you over a little longer.
            • Here is the trailer for the movie Looper I was talking about in last week's post:

            • Disney is officially eyeing the sequel for The Muppets to be released in 2013. It sounds good to me, but I am kind of sad that Jason Segel will not be back to co-write the sequel.
            • Paramount has set the release date for Darren Aronofsky’s Noah on March 28, 2014. The movie stars Russell Crowe as Noah and Liam Neeson as the villain.
            • Bill Murray has still not decided if he wants be in Ghostbusters 3 yet. There have been many reports that state he dislikes the idea of the movie and will not be in it. Recently  Bill has said the Ghostbusters 3 is not out of question yet. My hopes that he will come on and do the picture. I never experienced the movies in theater and would like to love this movie.

            Avatar 2 probably will suck!

As always, the Weekend Box Office results:
            1. The Hunger Games
            2. American Reunion
            3. Titanic 3D
            4. Wrath of the Titans
            5. Mirror Mirror
Now for the Movie news of the week:
            • A clip has been released from The Avengers and it completely revolves around Black Widow. Check it out below:

            • A featurette for the Total Recall remake has been released.Check it out below:

            • Arnold Schwarzenegger actually wants to do Triplets. If Danny DeVito and Eddie Murphy say that they want to do the movie, it will happen. I honestly dont think this is a good idea. The original was done so long ago that its better to remake it instead of making a sequel to a movie that this generation has not seen and most like will not want to see.
            • Liam Neeson is on talks to do a movie called Non-Stop. He would play a warn out Air Marshall who faces a threat on an International flight. Sound like a good role for him, but he is really starting to get old. His 60th birthday is just around the corner and the next movie that he is in is about to be released in a few months (Battleship then The Dark Knight Rises.) He is also set to work on Taken 2.
            • Avatar 2 most likely will not be ready by its release date. A Producer for the movie discusses that the sequel will need more time then the 2014 release date. He says they want to make it and want to make it right. He says " Movies make release dates; release dates don’t make movies." I honestly hope that they do not do a sequel to this movie. The first one was good, why mess it up by making a sequel.

            • Captain America 2 has a release date of  April 4, 2014. It will pick up where his story leaves of in The Avengers. It will be about him still working with  S.H.I.E.L.D and Nick Fury and him still getting accustom with the modern day world.

            • X-Men: First Class 2 will start production in January of 2013 so that there is no conflict with Jennifer Lawrence and the Hunger Games sequel. They hope to release the movie in the Summer of 2014.

            • Steven Seagal was offered a role in The Expendables 3. They tried to get him for The Expendables, he wouldn't be apart of The Expendables 2, what makes you think he wants to be apart of The Expendables 3?

            • The Dark Knight Rises gets a PG-13 rating and i'm glad about that. It allows the movie to be open to a larger audience and get more ticket sales. If you are like me, you can;t wait for this movie to be released.

            • With Gary Ross out of the director's chair for Catching Fire, The Hunger Games sequel, a search has started for his replacement. One of my choices of his replacement would be Patty Jenkins, who directed shows like Arrested Development, Entourage and The Killing and the movie Monster. My other choice would be  Rupert Wyatt, who directed Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Both would be good choices in my opinion, but its not my decision to make. UPDATE: Gary Ross is still in talks to direct Catching Fire.

            • The first 5 minutes of the movie Lockout has been released. Check it out below:

I still see Guy Pearce as playing Snake Plissken in Space.

            • A trailer preview for the movie Looper has been released. Check it out below:

The movie is about a a hitman that goes back in time to be killed by his younger self. When his younger self doesn't kill him, the mob send a hit squad back in time to kill both versions of the hitman. When the two versions of the same hitman start to interact things start to change in unpredictable ways. I dont know about the movie, but I will at least watch the trailer when it is released.

Michael Bay wants you to calm down!

As always on the Monday post, The Weekend Box Office Results:
            1. The Hunger Games
            2. 21 Jump Street
            3. Dr. Seuss' The Lorax
            4. John Carter
            5. Act of Valor
Now for the movie news of the week:
            • Sylvester Stallone confirms that The Expendables 2 will be R-Rated.

            • The Helicarrier from The Avengers has been spotted in a Japanese trailer for the movie. Check out the image below:

            • A poster that could be for The Wolverine movie has been spotted on the internet. Check it out below: The Wolverine 2 Poster - Rising Soon

            • As part of Sony's viral campaign for The Amazing Spider-man there is a new teaser for the movie. It features Captain Stacy as he talks about Spider-man and what he wants people to do if they see him. Check the video out below:
            • Michael Bay responds to all the hate that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot is getting. He tells fans to calm down and take a breath. He says that his team is working with the original creators of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles story. They are expanding the back story and help make it more complex. I honestly still dont like where this movie is going. Until something happens and they follow the original story, I will not be seeing this movie. Also the working title for the movie is Ninja Turtles.

            • The first set picture from Les Misérables has been released. It shows us what Hugh Jackman will look like as Jean Valjean as he is released from or going into prison. Check it out below:
              hugh jackman les miserables image

            • Street artist Shepard Fairey and  Imagine Entertainment are teaming up to do a reboot of George Orwell’s 1984. If you dont know who Shepard Fairey is you have defiantly seen his work. He created the famous Barack Obama ‘HOPE’ poster for the 2008 presidential election.
            • Just in case you are not hyped for The Avengers movie, Marvel has yet another featurette. Its shows the progression of how The Avengers movie was first talked about up to how it is being made. heck it out below:

I'm ready for the movie now!

            MOVIE OVERLOAD!!!

As always, the Weekend Box Office results:
            1. Dr. Seuss' The Lorax
            2. John Carter
            3. Project X
            4. Silent House
            5. Act of Valor
The Movie news for this week:
            • The script for Bill and Ted 3 has been completed. It is said to be Excellent. Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves are back for the movie. Now the production has to wait to be green lighted.

            • The RobotCop reboot will be distributed by Sony, will be directed by José Padilha, and  Joel Kinnaman will play Officer Alex J. Murphy/RoboCop. Depending on what way they will be going with this reboot, it might end up being a good movie.

            • Josh Trank, Chronicle, is in talks with Sony about a Venom spin-off movie from the Spider-Man movies. My question is how this will effect The Amazing Spider-Man movie. Will it be the venom from Spider-Man 3 or will it be a part of The Amazing Spider-Man reboot? Also with Sony having Josh Trank rumored for the Fantastic 4 reboot, which project would they do first. So, until anything is set in stone I hope everything turns out right.

            • Epic Space map from Prometheus:
            • The Muppets DVD/Bluray release trailer is a spoof of the Hunger Games. Check it out below:
            • Etan Cohen, Men in Black 3, will make his directorial debut by working on Paramount’s Boy Scouts vs. Zombies. I have heard a few things about this movie and it seems like it could be a good movie. It sounds weird, but it is a horror comedy with Zombies and Boy Scouts.

            • The first image from Disney's Lone Ranger movie has been released. Yet another weird costume for Johnny Depp to wear. Check out the image below:

            • Max Landis, screen writer of Chronicle, is working on the sequel. No word yet if Josh Trank will be back to direct the sequel.

            • Joss Whedon is already talking about how he would approach Avengers 2. He would like to dive into the characters more and tell more of a story then Wow you with the bigger is better approach. If The Avengers is what it is hyped up to being, I wouldn't mind a sequel with Joss Whedon's name on it.  The Avengers will be the longest movie Marvel and  Joss Whedon has ever done. Originally the movie was over 3 hours long. After  Joss Whedon cut 45 minutes it is now a healthy 2 hours and 15 minutes.  Joss Whedon and Marvel are both happy with that.

            • Confirmed by Viacom: Mission Impossible 5 is on its way. No word yet on who will be back.

            • Arnold Schwarzenegger now has an Anthem. Check it out below:

This was tweeted to me and I thought I should post it. It was made by the same guy that did The Stallone song.

            • Stallone still wants to do a fifth installment to the Rambo franchise. He is talking about John Rambo fighting Mexican cartels. He also says that it will be like a rehash of the First Blood story. I think the franchise needs to be left as it is.

            • Rumor: Tron 3 is in development. I dont know if I am suppose to like this or not.
            • A new  featurette for The Hunger Games has been released. Check it out below:

Thanks for reading today's post, as always leave a comment down below about anything or the question of the day, which is:

QOTD: Are you ready for this summer in terms of movies?

As I promised, I posted the new Trailer for The Avengers. Also with it is my review of the trailer and how hyped I am for the movie. Here is the link to that blog post: The New Avengers Trailer is out now!
