Friday's are now yours!

Hi, this isn't a normal blog for a Friday. Normally I go through my iTunes library at random and pick an artist to write about. I thought that was kind of getting old and I was thinking of what to do. I couldn't come up with anything, but I did have an Idea. What if i left this decision up to you, the readers.

From now until next Friday morning you can post an idea for the topic of the Friday blog post in the comments section of any blog. If I happen to get more then one idea, I will rotate them out every week or let you vote on your favorite one. If I happen not to get any ideas, then I will just continue on with the music blog.

So, let your creative juices flow!

Thanks for reading today's post, as always leave a comment down below about anything or the question of the day, which is:

QOTD: Any ideas?

Until Next Time,

My iTunes is stuck on Shuffle!

Ok, since there has been a large amount of lag in the Friday music posts I have decided to try something. On Fridays I will be going to my iTunes and turning on shuffle and who ever is the artist of the song that plays will be the focus for the blog.

This weeks post is going to be about: Acceptance

The first time I heard one of their songs was when I bought the Soundtrack for the movie Stealth. The song was Different. Here is a link to the Music Video. As you probably can guess I am a rock fan. This was a song that was slow but had a good sound to it. It took me a while to really like it enough to buy all of their album. They only released one full album and 2 EPs. They weren't very popular and were not around to long either. They started the band in 1998 and broke up in 2006. They are considered alternate rock, but some people believe them to be Christian rock. They are a good band in my eyes and I hope one day that they would get back together so they could make more music.

Acceptance?

Cydia is better then the App Store!

The Technology news for the day:
  • Rumor: iOS 5.1 is set to release on March 9th.
  • The iPad 3 is to have a Quad Core A6 processor,  2048×1536 Retina Display, and 4G LTE. Some people believe that Apple will announce it on Wednesday, March 7th.
  • A Report from the University Of California shows that Cydia Apps leak less private data than App Store Apps.
  • I have decided to do something new with the Friday post. Since I havent posted any music news lately, since I havent found anything interesting, I am changing the topic of the Friday posts. It is still going to involve music, but with a twist. I dont want to give to much information about it, you will just have to come back tomorrow and find out what it it!

Thanks for reading today's post, as always leave a comment down below about anything or the question of the day, which is:

QOTD: Are you thinking about getting the iPad 3?

Musicians on YouTube! Part 6

Ever heard of Toby Turner? Tay Zonday? Rhett & Link? Well then you have never been on YouTube for the good stuff. These guys create amazing music on their own and do in such a fashion that makes it explode on the Internet. All of their videos are original and amazing. And there is so many more musicians out there on YouTube. For the next 3 Fridays I will be talking about YouTube Musicians and I will also post a link to my favorite video that they made. This week I will be talking about Toby Turner.

Toby Turner aka Tobuscus is what I like to call, an internet Superstar! He started big on a channel called LikeTotallyAwesome where we posted videos about things in Pop Culture. He was there for about a year and a half and decided to go solo. He has a daily Vlog channel where he posts what he calls Lazy Vlogs. He has a gaming channel where he does some hilarious video game voice overs. Then he has his main channel where he does everything from making music videos posting episodes of his show Cute Win Fail. Below I posted 2 links to my favorite videos from him. I hope you like them?

High School Thoughts About College
Literal Trailers / LITERAL Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood Trailer

QOTD: Do you like reading these blog posts? Why or Why not?

SKYRIM!!!

Not too much gaming news today thanks to Modern Warfare 3. But there is one game that has WOWed me many times. If you haven't guessed it by now, its Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Have you seen the game footage, IT LOOKS AMAZING. I used to be a hater for these types of game (Haters gonna Hate), but the game looks so amazing I just have to get it. I plan on getting the game as soon as I get my XBox, which should be in the next 2 weeks. I don't mean to geek out, but this game is much higher on my wish list of games then Modern Warfare 3 is. It comes out this Friday and I wish I had an XBox so I would have preordered it.
You heard my opinion on the game, now whats yours? Dont forget to respond to the question of the day, which is:

QOTD: Do you think Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will be more popular/ played longer then  Modern Warfare 3?

His videos are funny and smart to me. They make music magical and inspires other YouTube to get their music out there and keep having fun doing it. As promised I found a good video that Mystery Guitar Man did back in February of 2010 which was the First video I saw of his and the reason I subscribed to him. I hope you enjoy it!

Musicians on YouTube! Part 3

Ever heard of barelypolitical/The Key of Awesome? DeStorm? Terabrite? Well then you have never been on YouTube for the good stuff. These guys create amazing music on their own and do in such a fashion that makes it explode on the Internet. All of their videos are original and amazing. And there is so many more musicians out there on YouTube. For the next 6 Fridays I will be talking about YouTube Musicians and I will also post a link to my favorite video that they made. This week I will be talking about The Key Of Awesome.

The Key Of Awesome is a parody music channel on Youtube and man are they funny. They started out as Barley Political back in 2007 with their video "I've Got a Crush on Obama" with the icon Obama Girl. It instantly became a huge internet hit. Since that video was released they have become the most popular show online with over 1 billion views. Then they branched out and started another channel called Barley Digital with deals with more pop culture and parodies. And this is where The Key Of Awesome came into the mix. As of right now they have 50 original parodies and over 162,980 subscribers. And that doesn't even account for their over 100 million video views. Trust me, you will love them as soon as you watch them.

The link for today was the very first video I saw from them and it is amazing if you saw The Dark Knight! (I mean come on who hasn't?)

Preorder Fridays

So last Friday I pre-ordered 2 albums from 2 of my favorite groups. I pre-ordered Mylo Xyloto from Coldplay and God's Not Dead from Newsboys. Mylo Xyloto will be the 5th album I own from Coldplay and God's Not Dead will be the 10th album I own from the Newsboys. I have got a sample of both and they both are really good albums. I really cant wait for Mylo Xyloto to come out,  because I pre-ordered it with the Vinyl and this will be the first Vinyl that I have ever bought. Good thing I have a Record player to play it on. Mylo Xyloto is due to come out October 24th and God's Not Dead is due to come out November 15th.

An Introduction is in order.

It seems that an Introduction is in order. Hello, My name is Joshua Vincent. I'm a college Student from Charlotte, NC. I came up with the idea for this Blog about 2 and a half months ago. I was going to do it as a web show on YouTube, but I don't have the equipment or the space to do what I want with it. So until then I will be on here. It took me a long time to decide what I want to blog about. Then it hit me on Sunday while I was talking to a buddy of mine about future and what I wanted to do. I decided that I wanted Blog about things involving Pop Culture and my opinion/views on it. I wanted to make breaking news that Newspaper talk a few days to print, websites take hours to post, and people never hear about because it never gets to them. I will post to this Blog Monday through Friday on my 5 favorite Pop Culture topics. The Schedule will be as follows:
  • Mondays aka Movie Mondays (Movies Based news)
  • Tuesdays aka Techy Tuesdays (Technology Based news)
  • Wednesday aka Gaming Wednesday (Gaming Based news)
  • Thursday aka Tele Thursdays (Television show Based news)
  • Fridays aka Music day (Still need a catchy name for that)
So starting tomorrow there will be a Blog posted. Keep and eye out for it and feel free to leave a comment.
