Safe House is movie of the Week!!!

As always on the Monday post, the Box Office Results from last weekend:
  1. Safe House
  2. The Vow
  3. Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance
  4. Journey 2: The Mysterious Island
  5. This Means War
Now on to the Movie news for the week:
  • Jonathan Liebesman, the director of  Battle Los Angeles, is in talks to try and reboot the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise again. The first version of this franchise was back in 1984 with the Live action Trilogy. Then came the CGI incident back in 2007. Now they want to try and do it again. As much as I would like to see it, I don't want them to destroy the Turtles again.
  • Sony wants Brian Taylor, both Crank and Crank: High Voltage and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, to write and direct a  Live-Action Twisted Metal movie. Brian has been apart of some pretty good film, but I dont think this should happen. Sony also wanted to do a Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune movie, but fans shut that idea down before anything really happened. The only video game turned movie that turned out half way decent was Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Ok, and maybe the Resident Evil series if you can really count that. So, super fans and nerds, its time to shut Sony down again!

  • Fast and the Furious parts 6 and 7 will not be filmed back to back. Part 6 will be in Europe and will start production in May. All this news come from Dwayne Johnson who will be apart of the next film at least. I am still waiting for them to announce Jason Statham as apart of the cast.
  • Rumor:  X-Men: First Class’s sequel will mainly focus on Magneto's change from the hero he could be to the Villian he really is.

  • Rumor: Transformers 4 will have less humans and be more like the last hour of Dark of the Moon.
  • Fox wants to reboot Zorro and change it to a post apocalyptic future. Gael Garcia Bernal is set to play Zorro.
  • Your Doorman is Intimidating:
  • I Am Legend 2 is going to happen. They are offering Will Smith to come back for the sequel and it is all up to his decision. It this may seem weird to you since Will's Character died at the end of the film that might not be the ending they are going with. There was an alternate ending to the film which makes the film end in a better way. If you havent seen it before, check it out below:
  • I think if they stick with this ending for the beginning of the sequel that the movie will come out better. We will just have to wait and find out if Will Smith will come back.
  • Rumor: Josh Trank, Chronicle, is in talks with a Chronicle sequel and a Fantastic 4 reboot.
  • Rumor: Dean Parisot, Galaxy Quest, is in final talks to direct Red 2. You know, the movie about the  retired special ops agents that includes Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, and  Helen Mirren. All I have to say is, if they want to do this right they need to bring  Karl Urban back and have him as part of the group.
  • Kick-Ass 2 will start filming this summer, but no clue if  Matthew Vaughn will be in the directors chair.  Matthew Vaughn is already set to direct the X-Men: First Class sequel in that time frame. To me Kick-Ass 2  is only worth filming if  Matthew Vaughn can return to direct.
Lastly, I was sent this picture this morning and it made me a little sad. This a picture of Heath Ledger as The Joker doing a kick over Christian Bale as Batman. The picture was fake, but it is still pretty cool.

Liam Neeson is a Boss!!

As I always on the Monday blog, I post the Weekend Box Office Results:
  1. The Grey
  2. Underworld Awakening
  3. One For the Money
  4. Red Tails
  5. Man on a Ledge
Now onto the movie news for this week:
  • Liam Neeson will be in The Dark Knight Rises to reprise his role as Ra’s al Ghul. In his interview with  ShowbizSpy he had nothing to tell. My thoughts are that he will either be in a flash-back or reincarnated using the Lazarus Pit. Knowing Christopher Nolan's style of directing Ra’s al Ghul will be alive again through Flash-backs.
  • The official The Amazing Spider-Man plot synopsis has been released and man does it give some good hints to the storyline of the movie. Check it out below:

"The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Martin Sheen) and Aunt May (Sally Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents’ disappearance – leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Ifans), his father’s former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors’ alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero."

From what I have read about Marc Webb's vision for the movie, it will blow the previous series out of the water. It will follow the comic books in a better way and make the movie feel more real (using less special effects and CGI.)

  • Have you ever wondered which Studio owned which Marvel Character? Well I did some research and found out which one owns which character:
    • 20th Century Fox Owns: Daredevil(Soon to be rebooted with Jason Satehem becoming The Ma Without Fear), Elektra, Fantastic Four, X-Men Mutants/non-mutants
    • Sony Pictures owns: Spiderman and Ghost Rider
    • All other characters are owned by Marvel
  • The Grey to be given and run at the Oscars late this year. I saw that movie this past weekend and man was it amazing! I would give a formal review of it, but I can't say to much or ill start spoiling it. Lets just say it made me rethink buying a Timber wolf and domesticating it
  • Rumor: Captain America 2 may start production later in this year and have a release date in 2014.
  • Steve Spielberg wants to directing a new take on the Story of Moses called Gods and Kings. Plans say that it will be about his birth all the way through getting the Ten Commandments from God. The story is to be a bit Braveheart-ish in a sense. Could this turn out as good as he hopes?
  • Joe Carnahan, director of The A-Team and The Grey, wants to tackle a Death Wish reboot. Charles Bronson was originally the main character and now some believe the role should go to Liam Neeson. Could this really be done? Would Liam Neeson be good for the role? If not, then who?

  • Matthew Vaughn is confirmed to direct X-Men: First Class sequel. Hopefully it wont be rushed this time so the film will turn out better.
  • Also check out this awesome fan film. Back in 2009, Casey Pugh asked thousands of Internet users to remake "Star Wars: A New Hope" into a fan film, 15 seconds at a time. And it became a huge hit, check it out here: Star Wars Uncut: Director's Cut

Was the Jetsons TV show Racist?

As always on the Monday blog, the Weekend Box Office Results:

    1. The Devil Inside
    2. Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol
    3. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows
    4. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011)
    5. Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked
Now onto the news for the day:
    • Now this is only a rumor and maybe a good one at that, but Bradley Cooper might be Lex Luthor in Superman: Man of Steel.
    • New Line Cinema wants to make a Horrible Bosses Sequel? Right now the original cast is back for it. Which means it might be the same story over again. The only this could turn out good is if the they change characters (which already has not happened) or change the story so that they help other people get rid of their Horrible Bosses. I could see this being good, but not with the same story line.
    • Bridesmaids 2 might happen without  Kristen Wiig. Which if this happens the movie will focus on  Melissa McCarthy’s character Megan. Either way I think it would be a funny movie.
    • Les Misérables could be an amazing movie remake.  Hugh Jackman will play  Jean Valjean, Anne Hathaway will play  Fantine,   Russell Crowe will play Javert. I saw the play back in High School and this could end up being a good remake.  Les Misérables was originaly made into a movie back in 1998 with  Liam Neeson, Geoffrey Rush, and Uma Thurman.
    • Matthew Vaughn in talks with unknown person to write and direct Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall.
    • Tim Burton wants to direct a live-action  Pinocchio (Yet another remake) and have Robert Downey Jr. as Gepetto.
    • Kanye West is the  artistic supervisor for the Live Action Jetsons movie. Finally, almost 20 years after the Flintstones movie was made there is a Jetsons movie being made. Now my only question is, will  the movie be as racist as the show? Notice there was only white people in the show.
