Britney Spears is replacing Paula Abdul!?

The Television news for the week:
  • Here are some more details on the Arrested Development show and movie:
    • The fourth Season will have 10 episodes and will lead up to the movie.
    • Each episode will be about a different member of the Bluth family. What they have been doing since we last saw them and what they are doing in the events leading up to the movie.
    • Netflix will be releasing the entire season at once to see how many total views they can get.
    • If this season does well, there might be another season coming.
  • Britney Spears is finalizing a deal so that she can become a Judge on Season 2 of The X Factor. After Paula Abdul was axed, they need to replace her with somebody. Simon Cowell says that they will be announcing a new judge by the end of next week. If Britney Spears takes the deal, she will be making $15 Million a season.
  • Bryan Fuller is thinking of developing a new Star Trek TV show. If it happens, it would take place after J.J. Abrams upcoming Star Trek Sequel. Which gives the show sometime to really work out the story. They are planning to make the show in the years 3000 and with a whole new Ship. The show is years away from production, but I will keep you updated as the story develops.
  • Season 2 of American Horror Story has a little bit of news. Ryan Murphy, the series' creator, has said that the show will be taking place at a institution for the criminally insane on the east coast that is being ran by Jessica Lange character. I still have not watched a single episode of the show and have no idea if I should get into the show.

QOTD: Should I start watching American Horror Story?

Bruce Willis is really hard to kill!

As always, the Weekend Box Office Results:.
  1. Act of Valor
  2. Tyler Perry's Good Deeds
  3. Journey 2: The Mysterious Island
  4. Safe House
  5. The Vow
Now the Movie news for the week:
  • William Fichtner, The Dark Knight and Prison Break, has replaced Dwight Yoakam as a villain in  Gore Verbinski’s The Lone Ranger.  Dwight Yoakam had to back out of the film due to  scheduling issues.  William Fichtner is used to playing a villain type role and I think this could be a good role for him.
  • The role of John McClane Jr. has been cast for A Good Day to Die Hard, aka Die Hard 5.  Jai Courtney, an Austrailan Actor from the show  Spartacus: Blood and Sand, will be playing the role of Bruce Willis's son. I don't if they are bringing him in to take over as lead or just to make another sequel.
Here is a picture from a screen test with father and son:
Jai Courtney and Bruce Willis in A Good Day to Die Hard
  • Set photos from Start Trek 2 have been released and they show little of the upcoming sequel to the 2009 Blockbuster. The only thing that I thought was cool was Spock using the Vulcan Death Grip on  Benedict Cumberbatch.
    Check out the picture below:
Benedict Cumberbatch and Zachary Quinto on the Star Trek 2 set
Also J.J. Abrams has confirmed that Star Trek 2 is being filmed in IMAX format. Personally, id rather see a film in IMAX format instead of 3D. 3D is not worth the extra money (or migraine.) I have seen only one film in IMAX format and that was Inception. It was worth the extra money and to me made the film look better. I am a huge Star Wars Fan, but I dont plan on seeing any of the films in 3D, except for the first 20 minutes of Episode 3 and and the Original Trilogy.
  • The Hunger Games is beating Twilight Eclipse in the sense of advanced ticket sells and it still has a month to go. I am not a huge fan of The Hunger Games, but I may end up seeing it. Especially if this movie can bet the crap out of any Twilight record!

  • Rumor: Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson might play Hercules in Brett Ratner's Hercules movie.
  • A new trailer for The Avengers is to be released online on  February 29th. I will make sure to find it and post it as soon as I watch it.

QOTD: Do you like IMAX, 3D, or both?

    Slappa da bass!

As I always on the Monday blog, I post the Weekend Box Office Results:
    1. Contraband
    2. Beauty and the Beast (3D)
    3. Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol
    4. Joyful Noise
    5. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows
Now onto the news for this week:
    • J.J. Abrams had an interview this week to talk about Star Trek 2. In the interview he discussed how Star Trek 2 will be converted into 3D after the movie is complete. He says he did it this way to make have the look and feel of the first one. He also talks about people making fun of him for having the Lens Flares in the first film. In my opinion they made the film fell more like it was shot in Space. So far he is still doing the Lens Flares in the sequel.
    • Tom Hardy, you know the soon to be super famous movie star, will play Al Capone in the upcoming crime drama 'Cicero'.  For those who know there Al Capone history know that  Cicero, Illinois is where he set up his main headquarters of operation. After seeing Tom Hardy in Bronson it is a great roll for him to play.
    • Richard Schiff may be playing the Superman version of  Lucius Fox (from the recent Batman trilogy) in Superman: Man of Steel. He is set to play  Professor Emil Hamilton, but no word on what version he is going to play from the comic books. Like I said, he may be the  gadget supplier for Superman after Lex Luthor takes credit for his inventions and drives him insane.
    • Bruce Almighty 2 is now in development. No word yet on the plot or anything, except Jim Carrey is back. Also Dumb & Dumber 2 may still happen after almost 20 years.
    • Channing Tatum gets his butt kicked by Gina Carano in a 'Haywire' clip
    • A clip from 'Red Tails', a movie about the Tuskegee program during WWII.
    • Thor 2 Script Being changed by Robert Rodat, the screenwritter from  'Saving Private Ryan’. This could be good.
    • Pirates Of The Caribbean 5 is getting a rewrite, i'm still wondering why it is being made. I have  Pirates Of The Caribbean 4 on my iTunes, but I still have not watched it.
    • The Dark Knight Rises IMAX Tickets are already selling out, i'm still waiting to get some in my area.
    • Steven Spielberg is not Directing Jurassic Park 4. Rumors say that it will open a new trilogy in the series.
    • 'The Avenger' will be mostly from Captain America perspective. Makes sense to me, he just woke up in the future and doesn't know whats going on.
    • Josh Trank, the Director of the upcoming movie Chronicle may be directing the Fantastic 4 Reboot.
    • My Favorite Comedy Duo is getting back together to make another movie.  Paul Rudd and Jason Segel are back with  Judd Apatow for a 'Knocked Up'  spinoff. The movie is suppossed to be about Pete and Debbie (now close to their 40s) a few years after 'Knocked Up' and is called 'This is 40'. Megan Fox is also signed to star.
    • Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter Featurette

QOTD: Who is your favorite Comedy Duo?

P.S. Todays blog was almost lost forever. I had to fight a computer Troll with an iPod Cord and a Hot Wheels car. And yes this really did happen, the blog was almost lost within my internets.
