The Movie news for the week:

  • To start of the sales of The Dark Knight Rises Advanced tickets, here is something you might like:
  • Damon Lindelof, the guy who wrote the Prometheus Script, is working on the rewrite of the World War Z film. This is weird since the movie is filming and re shooting. Looks like the whole movie is going to be redone which will take some time. As of right now they still have the movie set to release on June 21st, 2013.
  • Christopher Nolan continues to say that The Dark Knight Rises will be his last Batman Film. This is a sad thing to hear, but he has done enough for DC and it is time for him to move on. He has established a huge fan base and I am sure he will continue to be a good director. It is also time for him to get back to his films using his original ideas. I love him as a director and I can't wait to see what he has in store for us in his next films.
New Trailers and featurettes of upcoming films:
  • The Amazing Spider-Man featurette focusing on Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors/The Lizard:

  • Wreck-It Ralph:
  • Django Unchained:

  • Flight:

  • 360:

Take a break MGM!

The Weekend Box Office results:
  1. MIB 3
  2. Marvel's The Avengers
  3. Battleship
  4. The Dictator
  5. Chernobyl Diaries
Now to the movie news for this week:
  • Tom Cruise climbs aboard the remake of The Magnificent Seven. To me this isn't a shock that MGM wants to remake some of their classics. I am kind of mad that they are working on the remakes for  RoboCop, WarGames, Death Wish, Carrie and Poltergeist. But why would put Tom Cruise in a Western and make a western in a time where westerns are not popular? They just need to stop making movies until they come up with an original idea.
  • Some recent news has rumored Christopher Nolan to be the writer of the Batman reboot after The Dark Knight Rises. Yes, you read that right. DC wants to reboot the Batman Series after The Dark Knight Rises so that they can have the Batman they want for the Justice League story. But Why?
This has to be one of my favorite set photos from the film:
Christopher Nolan, Morgan Freeman and Christian Bale on the 'Dark Knight Rises' Set
  • Iron Man 3 has just started production and already has good news. The film has an increased budget, it went from $140 Million to $200 Million. Also Jon Favreau will be returning as Happy Hogan, Tony Stark's bodyguard.
  • G.I. Joe: Retaliation has been pushed to a March 2013 release date so that it can be converted into 3D. Its not like I was going to see the movie anyways. This just gives me more of a reason not to go and see it.

This weeks trailer releases:
  • Teaser for The Watch:
  • Trailer for The Great Gatsby remake:

I don't like this at all! Its like the version with Paul Rudd needed to be remade. The bad thing is it will be in 3D! Another reason for me to hate 3D!
  • The Red Band trailer for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter:

  • Trailer #3 for  Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter:

  • The Trailer for On The Road:

QOTD: Did you watch The Avengers twice?

IMAX is better then 3D!!

As always, the Weekend Box Office Results:
  1. Think Like a Man
  2. The Lucky One
  3. The Hunger Games
  4. Chimpanzee
  5. The Three Stooges
On to the Movie news for the week:
  • There is a behind the scenes clip of The Avengers that is almost 20 minutes long. There is no dialog in the clip to keep from spoiling the movie. There is however some well chosen background music. Check out the clip below:

  • There is a set photo from Star Trek 2 that hit the web. It shows Spock in his Volcanic suit and nothing more then that. Check it out below:
Zachary Quinto Dons Spock's 'Volcano Suit' on the 'Star Trek 2' Set
  • The final posters for The Amazing Spider-Man have been released. They add a darker tone to the highly anticipated reboot. Check them out below:
Final 'The Amazing Spider-Man' Movie Poster The Amazing Spider-Man City Poster
  • Universal Pictures has announced that they will be working on a big screen reboot of The Rockford Files. There has not been many details released, but they have signed Vince Vaughn to play Jim Rockford. This role was originally played by James Garner in the TV Show. This could be a very good move or a very bad movie. It all depends on how Universal and Vince approach the movie.
  • There have been more behind the scenes images released of The Lone Ranger. They show Armie Hammer and Johnny Depp meeting with Navajo leaders. Check out the images below:
Navajo Nation Vice President Rex Lee Jim, Johnny Depp shakes hands with Navajo Nation President Ben Shelly (Lone Ranger) Navajo Nation Vice President Rex Lee Jim, Armie Hammer and Navajo Nation President Ben Shelly (Lone Ranger)
  • If you are planning to go see The Avengers Opening Night like I am, you are going to get a special treat. Warner Brothers has announced that they will be releasing a new trailer for The Dark Knight Rises before The Avengers. Thats a big announcement since The Dark Knight Rises might end up being the Movie of the Year and hopefully the Greatest Movie of All Time! I will make sure to post the trailer on the following Monday for the movie blog.
  • Guy Pearce has joined Iron Man 3 as Aldrich Killian, one of the creator of the Extremis technology. When the military pulls the funding for his project, Killian turns into a villain. The movie also has Ben Kingsley playing an undetermined villain. My guess still stand that he will play the Mandarin, even though Marvel still denies this.
  • Another set photo from Les Misérables have been released. This one shows Anne Hathaway & Hugh Jackman and it looks like they are singing:
Anne Hathaway and Hugh Jackman in Costume for 'Les Misérables'
  • Christopher Nolan says that over an hour of The Dark Knight Rises was shot in IMAX format. What does this mean you ask? This means that the movie will look better, feel real, and be a better movie. The IMAX shots in this movie are double the ones in The Dark Knight and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. I don't know about you, but I can't for the movie to hit theaters.

  1. Puss in Boots
  2. Tower Heist
  3. A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas
  4. Paranormal Activity 3
  5. In Time

  • The X-Men First Class Sequel signs the writer of Sherlock Holmes.
  • There is a live action "Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego?" in the works. Jennifer Lopez is producing.
  • Ubisoft Motion Pictures is to be making an Assassin’s Creed movie, hopefully will turn out well.
